Q: Where is the fuel reset button located on a 1992 ford f-250?
I need to know where the fuel reset button is located on a 1992 ford f-250 4×4. i do not have the manual so i dont have any clue where it is

A: Just to the right of the passenger footwell, behind the kick panel that fills the space between the right front door and the lower dash. It is gray, about 1 inch by 3 inches and has a red button on top.

Q: What kind of mileage does a diesel engine get in a Ford F-250?

A: Man what year that makes a big difference.
If it is an early one guessing about 12-16
Newer one about 13-18

Q: Can Anyone Help On Modifications And Things To Know About Lifted Ford Diesel F-250’s?
My Popps Bought An 06 Custom Electric Blue, Diesel F250 With An 8 Inch Fabtech 4.0 Lift. Hes A Real Ford Guy And Is This Is The Fourth Ford Truck Hes Bought Since I Was Born. A: Like nicholas said….get the ARP head studs FIRST. Factory head studs were bad about expanding when they would get hot and cause a blown head gasket. Also the second thing to do is the EGR delete. Thess emission components would clog and malfunction all the time….so delete it before it leaves you stranded. Then you want to do exhaust and air intake modifications followed by gauges. The tune away with TW, DP, SCT, propane etc.. And the whole cab coming off thing is true and is something to take into consideration when buy a 6.0 or 6.4. The fuel pump and turbo were the main reasons why the cab has to come off to be replaced/repaired.

So I have a Ford F-250 1979 custom with a 400 engine in it. It also has a 5th wheel hitch. I would like to know how much I can tow and carry with this truck.

A: Depends a lot on gear ratio.

Q: What is the stock alternator in a 1989 Ford F-250 7.5L in terms of amperage?
Also, what amperage would you recommend? Is 75 adequate? My battery is 1000CA. Thanks guys

A: according to autozone that truck uses an 80 amp alternator, the size of the battery has very little to do with it.

Q: How much would it cost to paint my 1976 ford f-250 long box. The original color it came with.?
It is a dark blue. The interior and doors still have perfect paint but everything else including the box is all cracked and chipped.

A: If your looking for a good paint job you may be looking at around 1000 dollars. Including the paint and labor cost. as long as it is just a single coat all around.

Q: I have a Ford F-250 Crew Cab truck, and I need to get the best audio system. What do you recommend?

A: Audiobahn!! that’s what I have in my 2500 RAM. I made a custom console that run’s to the back of my cab Its my box and my console get audiobahn subs one in the back of the box and 4 on the sides . then you wanna get audiobahn 6×9 to go in the doors . and so all you here isn’t just bass get some tweeters to mount on your window post and back of cab. I don’t think it sounds to bad .

Q: How do I use up some bad gas I put in my Ford F-250 without taking it out of the tank?
I have been running my truck on the other tank that didn’t get the bad gas but I need to have both tanks for my long trips. When I switch tanks to the bad side it sputters and will stall and can’t be driven for more than a minute but will restart only to sputter and stall again. I really don’t want to take it out since it is a full tank and I would hate to waste the $40.00 plus in gas.

A: You can try some of the octane booster and see if it helps it out a bit. They also have gas restorer for old bad gas. try both of them and see if it doens’t improve. Other wise do buy 2 or 3 gallons of Iso Alcohol and put that in the tank. It will make it so it will at least run. Not very well but it will run. when you get down to about a 1/2 tank put some fresh in it. that will help as well.

Q: How many miles to Ford F-250 trucks live to?
If I’m buying used and it has 78K miles on the engine, but assume it checks out mechanically and everything, how many more miles can I expect from a Ford?

A: Depends how well you plan on taking care of it. Abuse them they die. Take care of them they live a long time. Turns out that this works for pretty much any machine.

Q: My 1975 Ford F-250 is drawing power from somewhere when the engine is turned off, but everything is turned off
When I installed the new battery, the salesman siad to be sure that there is no type of spark when you put the positive connection on the battery. I see a very small spark when I connected the battery. The truck is very hard to start when cold if it starts at all. How can I troubleshoot this problem?

A: Get a test light and start probing until you find what’s staying on.

Q: How much would it cost to paint my 1976 ford f-250 longbox?
the interior paint is perfect. But the outside and box is cracked and chipped.

A: That’s an incomplete question, do you want a color change? Do you want a quality paint job, or a Macco hack and spray? (they really do poor work BTW) A good paint job is going to be about a grand, more if you want the clear coat color sanded and painted, and even more still if you want a color change (door jams, under hood, back of cab/front of bed). It’s not a cut and dry question.

Q: How do you relieve the pressure when replacing the fuel filter on a 1993 ford f-250?
I don’t think there is a fuse for the fuel pump, at least I can not find it if there is. Is just taking the fuel cap off enough that I won’t get drenched in gas?
Thanks everyone!!!!! My other car I could just pull the relay and run it until it died, can’t find on this one though, guess the only problem is fuel loss, not a big deal, I’ll just wait til I’m almost out of gas.

A: With the ignition off you can take the fuel filter cap off. There will be some pressure in the line but it will bleed out. Use a hand towel (not your mom’s /wife’s good ones) to catch the fuel as it escapes. I take a hose to the engine after this procedure then let it dry thoroughly.

Q: can the 2005 ford f-250 handle a banks chip?
I what to buy a 2005 ford f-250, but don’t know if it will handle a extra 125 hp and 215 pft chip. It has 32,560 miles on it, but I think that the 2005 year model had a bunch of problems with it.

A: Do you have the 6.0 diesel?? If you do i would go run and hide quick!! I had a 2003 ford f250 6.0 diesel and i had nothing but problems with it.I installed one of those Superchip programmers in it.This engine had tons of power but it is not reliable.When the truck hit 30,000 miles the engine actually blew up and warped the crank.This was from normal driving.Ford replaced the motor for free with another brand new 6.0 and they were completely baffled what happened because there is suppose to be alot of safety features on this truck to keep this from happening but they didnt work.After having the new engine for about a month the intercooler actually blew up in it too.I got tired of all the problems so i traded it in for a new Dodge with a Cummins.Oh yeah did i forget to tell you that the truck caught fire in the electrical system within the first couple of months after buying it brand new?!!? Yep,it sure did.It even burnt up my firewall and i had to have the hood repainted too.This is all spoken from actual experience.So i wouldnt go pushing that Ford too hard.This sux that i have to say this because i always loved Ford trucks.
