A: A 604 HEMI with fuel injection anb 2- 1/8 inch ceramic headers feeding into a Magnaflow exhaust system. That sure would sound good to me. LOL

headin to miami for spring break and thinkn bout poppin the bike on my boys truck …hes got a dodge ram 1500 but the capworld hardbed cover on the bed only opens up a certain amount (not completely vertically of course) can i still fit my bike in there and be able to secure it properly?

A: my R1 when touching the front of the bed went almost to the tailgate and if I had a topper there would be no way it could have fit under it

Q: how do i take off a dashboard in a 2002 dodge ram 1500 quad cab?
i have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 quad cab. the gauges in the dash stopped working, lights on it stopped working, turn signals dont work, wipers dont work, break lights dont work, door locks dont work, interior light dont work. everything else works fine. does anybody know whats wrong?

A: pop it off it has clips. then once you got that off the gauges should have screws take it off then look for any burnt wires or check the circuit. but before anything check your fuses. might have a short somewhere or grounding out.

A: i got an old parts book and it says 96 and up will fit it and work right in it,i own a 99 model truck and i got a tranny from a 2001 model in it ,i went newer thinking i would have less problems,but that didn’t happen,good luck.

I drive a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 and I am wondering why it is listed as the most popular stolen vehicle in Texas? I assume that it is because they are abundant and probably easy to steal, but I was wondering if it was for any other reason that I was unaware of?

A: I have read that they are not anymore abundant in Texas than any other pick-up truck. I know that they are not any easier for a pro to steal. I guess it is more profitable to steal a Dodge than any other. And when you really think about it, who would want any other pick-up in Texas or anywhere. It is the best all around pick-up for the money. I’ll ask my friend in the insurance business and find out if there is another reason. ok. I once found out that more ships are lost off of northwestern Africa than the Bermuda Triangle area. So he will know.

Q: How much should I pay for a 2″ spacer lift for a 2003 dodge ram 1500 quad cab?
I’m getting a 2″ spacer lift on my 2003 dodge ram 1500 quad cab and my local provider gave me a $450 estimate including the spacer kit and the installation.

Does this sound over priced or about right? Should I keep looking?

A: $450 isn’t too bad with the install included. I know you’re probably going with a body lift kit (spacers only) because it costs less; but just to put it out there, keep in mind that body lifts will hard a lot harder because the ride height is changed but the shocks remain the same and the length of travel is shortened, causing them to be stretched higher than they oringinally were. With stock shocks (if you still have them) it will be much, much more noticable. Stock shocks for our Dodge’s are very poor and I don’t recommend them to anyone, especially those with a lift of any kind. At any rate, the price sounds decent but you may want a 2-3″ suspension lift in the future to increase the strength and ride of your truck’s suspension compared to the body lift.

We have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD truck and we were looking into one of the performance chips to improve gas mileage. I know the obvious answer is to not floor it, ok got it. I just want to know if a chip would help improve gas mileage. Can anybody give their experience with chips? Thanks!
Seeing as it is a 10 year old truck and technology evolves constantly, no I wouldn’t expect Dodge to have installed one in the truck already. Your sarcasm is wasted.

A: you can get a programmer instead of a chip and that will help it some,all it does is allow you to change the factory settings enough to actually give it more power and sometimes they help on fuel mileage but not that often,i added an exhaust system to mine along with a programmer and gained around 2 miles to the gallon and for the cost of doing al this its going to take a long time for it to pay off,good luck.

A: You don’t state what engine it has, but if its the 5.7 V-8, then yes it will pull a 2 horse trailer just fine.

A: Go to www.dodge.com and check for yourself. There are different variables in towing capacity. Gear ratio, 4X4 or not, bed size, tires.

Q: 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 squeaking in rear axle when i accelerate and brake?
I own a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 with about 120000 miles on it. Lately when I accelerate from a stop i hear a squeaking noise coming from either the rear axle or the rear brakes that stops once i get up to speed. It also happens when i brake and when i coast at about 20-25 mph. Any suggestions as to what this could be? and if you do know than is it something that I could fix on my own? thanks!

A: Sounds like a U joint or wheel bearing best get checked out or U may get stranded.Wheel bearing step on brakes while powering and if the squeak clears up wheel bearing.

My muffler fell off my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500, does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to replace. Being a woman I know if I take it to a garage they will want me to fix everything, if you know what I mean.

A: you can get a new one installed for around a 100 bucks,for that truck,it probably isn’t possible to save the one that’s on it,especially if it rusted off of it,at the worst you would have to pay about 150 for a new one,their not that expensive to get a new one on it,just go to muffler shop and all they will repair will be the muffler,good luck with it.
