Q: How do you turn on the fog lights on a Lexus IS 250?
I read the owner’s manual but it was confusing. Someone please help!

A: Flip the switch from off to on.

Q: Is there a legal way to update Lexus Navigation System without going to a dealer?
I own a Lexus LS460, but a really hate to be suckered, when dealer charges $350 for navigation update, while it only costs about $70 to update any other “off the shelf” navigation system.
Perhaps, someone knows the company the manufactures Lexus Nav. System?

A: There is not much need to upgrade the Nav system in any car. If your life depends on how accurate are the maps, is a must do. If you use it to go grocery, mall, restaurant and drive around town in places that you know. Is not really a need.

I drive across the country quiet a bit. I have not seen a must have need for a Nav system. The disc are updated once a year, so if some changes, you have to wait a year to get a new update.

I just borrowed a car this passed weekend with a Nav system and I liked better the hands free bluetooth that was on it better than the Nav system.

Q: How much does it cost to replace the leather interior in a 1997 lexus sc400 Is the leather good quality?
is it difficult to replace or recover the front seats of a 1997 lexus sc400. If you replace old stained torn leather front seats, will the quality of the leather be as good as the original? Do lexus dealerships do this work?

A: With leather you really get what you pay for. Cheap leather well…is cheap in quality. I think it will cost you alot to start replacing leather on the seats. A better bet, where the cost can be immediately known, is to get some good seats out of another lexus that is being wrecked. Then simply a matter of bolting into your vehicle.

Q: What is the fastest Lexus in the iS family and how much does it usually go for?
What is the fastest Lexus in the iS family and how much does it usually go for? (2010-2011)

A: The Lexus IS F would be the fastest out of the IS-line.

Lexus IS-F
5.0 litre V8
416 hp
0-60 in 4.6 seconds
Top speed: 170 mph
MSRP: $58,000-$63,000
Go to http://www.lexus.com/models/ISF/ for more information.

Q: Whats the difference between the Lexus is 250 and the is 350? Also, whats the difference with the is-f?
Im looking to buy a 06/07 Lexus IS but i cant decide which one to go for, i really don’t know much about the difference between the 250/ 350/ IS-F. I need help. Any recommendation?
Thank you to all of you that have answered my question. Your info was of great help.

A: IS 250 – 2.5 L 4GR-FSE V6, 204 hp (153 kW), rear wheel drive
# IS 350 – 3.5 L 2GR-FSE V6, 306 hp (228 kW), rear wheel drive
# IS F – 5.0 L 2UR-GSE V8, 417 hp ( 311 kW), rear wheel drive

Check here for more info on each model.

Q: Does anyone know of a good Lexus or Japanese Import shop or mechanic in Lexington, Kentucky?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good, trustworthy mechanic or mechanic shop in Kentucky that works on Lexus cars. I know the obvious place is the Lexus dealership, but I have heard about a lot of people getting charged for extra stuff and charged outrageous prices. Of course that can happen anywhere, but I know if it happens at Lexus, that it’ll cost me a whole lot more than the average place.

A: My husband and I have had 3 Lexus vehicles over the years (have 2 currently). We’ve always used the Lexus dealership in Nicholasville for maintenance and never been overcharged or had them try and talk us into anything. I’ve even had two minor things comped. They are very honest. On my last visit I was talking about whether to change from my Lexus RX to a Lexus ES or Toyota Avalon. The staff was very upfront and said while they are comparable, the Avalon was the better car.

For auto body work we use Auto Sports Collision Care Incorporated on Industry Pkwy in Nicholasville (859-885-4016) Very nice, honest, and quick. Work well with insurance companies so you don’t have the headaches.

Q: How much does it cost to repair a fender on a Lexus?
On my lexus the passenger side’s fender got hit and is poping out a by a bit. There is a dent the size of my hand on the front end by the wheel. So does anyone know how much the average running cost will be to fix the fender?

A: Sounds like the paint is ok, you can try PDR for as little as $100

Q: How do I fix a broken automatic windshield wiper on a Lexus ES330?
I have a 2004 Lexus ES330, just bought it used. I love it but the goofy automatic windshield wiper setting doesn’t seem to work at all. (Why anyone would want an automatic raindrop sensor is beyond me, but I digress). Any ideas on how to troubleshoot it before I take it to the Lexu$ dealer? Thanks!

A: Usually when the windshield is replaced the automatic wiper
sensor is installed without a a gel pad, or incorrectly. If not then the sensor is bad. This part is best installed by a Lexus
technician, and is a dealer only item, ie it can only be purchased through lexus.

Q: How to turn off a 2008 Lexus ES350 that is in motion?
HI I would like to know for my mom how you would turn off her 08 Lexus ES w/ Push button start if her car were to have a stuck or failed gas pedal. I’ve driven down our street and I’ve pushed the off button and the car does not turn off. The car goes into neutral fine, but I can’t kill the engine. Anyone?

A: If your mother experiences a stuck pedal, put the car in neutral. If she turns the car off while in motion, she will lose her power steering and power brake. (you can turn the car off while it is running by holding the start button for 3 seconds, but not recommended.)

Q: What kind of Lexus did Kanye West crash in 2002?
In 2002, Kanye West feel asleep at the wheel of his Lexus after a lengthy recording session, nearly killing him and breaking his jaw. Everywhere I search, all that it says is “Kanye West crashed a Lexus” but nothing more. I can’t find what the year and model of the car was, only that it was a Lexus. Does anyone know the year and model of the Lexus that Kanye West crashed?

A: GS 430 – 400 – 300?

Q: Has anyone taken a Lexus to a Toyota dealer for maintenance?
There is a very good Toyota dealer that takes care of my Camry. They only charge half as much as the Lexus dealer for the same level of maintenance. They say the drive train is the same, and the mechanics all know about the Lexus. Is that true?

A: yup

Q: What is the estimated value of a lexus rx300 with 77k miles?
The lexus rx300 2wheel drive is in good condition, what is the estimated value?
He is trying to sell it to me for aprox 18k-19k. Is this a good deal?
btw it’s a ‘03

A: I have an ‘01 Rx300 and it’s a great ride – very reliable, strongly recommend the car. however, they stopped manufacturing the Rx300 in 02 and switched it to the Rx330 – big price difference. Check out www.kbb.com or edmunds.

Q: What is the music played in the lexus advert on the radio?
I always listen to Trent Fm and I often hear the Lexus advert I can hear the music in the background. I was just wondering if anybody knew what it was.

A: ShaZ xX Here are two that I found on Youtube.com I hope one of them is the one you want. If not there may be more there.

Really cool advert for a Lexus car. I especially like the music and the bit right at the end. … lexus advert car light transparent szico vii fireworks first …

Q: Why would you pay 30k for a Lexus when you can get the same car- a Toyota for way cheaper?
What is the deal? Toyota and Lexus both use the same cheap quality parts, just because Lexus reputation is so high as a luxury car doesn’t make it better than other luxury cars. For example an Infiniti M45 or an Audi’s a typically around the same price as Lexus’s and they use way better parts.

A: I look at it the same way. Also, why would I want to buy a car for 30k when I can buy a decent – in shape house – for the same price, put 30k more into it and turn it around and sell it for 100k? Then use that money to buy a car that is 3 yrs old, 60k miles with 2yrs left on the the warranty for about 5k and walk away with money left over. When cars become the prices of small homes or 6 yrs worth of house payments, it’s definitely time to rethink the economy in which we live.
Sorry for the ramblings, but I hope you see what I am getting at.

Q: Scratched my Lexus IS 350 rear bumper. How much to fix and know any good shops?
Lexus IS350 rear bumper has 3 deep scratches. No dents, dings, or cracks. How much to fix w/ reputable shop?
Live in Orange County and it’s a 2006 model.

A: i saw one that was cheap but they suck at it XD

Q: How to make a 2007 acura tl faster?
I reecently bought a 2007 acura tl, with 18 k miles. it has the base 3.2 v6 engine that produces 255 horsepower and is front wheel drive. Any way to make it faster without throwing down thousands of dollars?

A: the first simple step I would take to make a car “faster” would be to reduce as much weight as possible, the most simple things would be to remove stuff from the interior, that is if you won’t have any passenger on your car.
aftermarket air intake doesn’t really make your car any faster, and don’t even mention the exhaust…. unless you put headers then that is something different

Q: what type of file will the cd player on my 99 acura tl play?
i have a 1999 acura tl i burn some cds but my cd player takes to long to play it if it does play it so what type of filecould i use (e.x.wav,wma,mp3,etc…)
the first person to get it right will get best answer
thank you

A: Standard audio CD format.

Q: How can i repair a low air flow in a 2003 Acura TL?
the A/C is cold but the air flow from the vents is low.
2003 acura 3.2 tl
reply fast please!!!

thankyou

A: Dale B. is right. You need to have the cabin air filter replaced. I had a Honda CR-V that had the same issue. As soon as i replaced the cabin air filter, the system blew harder and colder than I remembered. Also, it’s not good for your A/C system to keep the dirty one. It’s behind the glove box so change it or have it changed.

Q: How to remove front door pockets on a 2005 Acura TL?
I’m looking for a easy way to remove the front passenger door pocket on a 2005 Acura TL. I’ve spilled something down there and would like to remove this panel to clean without hopefully having to disassemble the entire door panel.

A: No way without taking door panel off… Good Luck!

Q: What is the difference between the Acura TL and the Acura TL Type S? How much more expensive is the TL Type S?
Could I get a used 2007 Acura TL Type S with a reasonable amount of miles for under $25,000?

A: Yes you can, and the TL type-s is much more powerful and more fun to drive! I’ve haven’t driven one personally, but i drive an rsx type-s and have driven a base model rsx and the difference is so great that i would never drive a base model. Plus, the type-s can come in a 6 speed, and manuals are more fun.

Q: How reliable/good of a car is the Acura TL?
I’m looking to purchase a used car and like the look of the Acura TL. Anywhere from 2003-current is the year I’m looking for. How reliable are these cars, is there a model year I should look for or be weary of, and how many miles do these cars usually last?

I’m trying to spend no more than $10,000. What should I expect???

-Thanks!

A: if you get one with an automatic transmission, you might want to research, but avoid the 03 and 04 models. for any honda with an automatic, make sure to change the fluid once a year with honda factory fluid and you will be fine.

Q: What cold air intake system should I install on my 2005 Acura TL?
I have a 2005 Acura TL and I would really like to do a few things to it over the summer. Some of the things I have planned are new high performance rotors, the V-Spec spoilers and side skirts, and a cold air intake system. However, when it comes to the intake system I don’t have too much knowledge in the area. What brand intake system should I buy for my TL to get the best performance? Money is not a problem, I just want to know what is the best for my TL and will give me results. Thanks

A: Just about all cold air intake have about the same improvement (in performance). But like the poster above said you have to worry about water (puddles) being sucked in to your engine.

You should opt for short air intake (for a street car). Again just about all short air intakes have about equal amount of increase in power gain. That’s because it isn’t that the short / cold air takes are so good, but that factory air intake are very restrictive (bad) due to noise restrictions.

The only differences between various brands are that you can get a generic model or specific model that fits your crowded engine bay better.

Q: Does anyone Know what type of low beams are reqiured for an acura TL 2003?
My acura TL reqiures specific bulbs for the headlights. Can I recieve assistance?

A: Low beam headlamps are HID-D2R

Q: Are there any reliable surfboard racks for the 2009 Acura TL?
Well i just got into surfing and i’m going to be getting a surf board soon. Now im only 15 and have the 2009 Acura TL but when i get my license I want to go to the beach in my free time and surf.

So, any racks i can rely on?

A: Go to JCwhitney.com

Q: BMW 3 series Vrs Acura TL which is good?
I’m planning on buying a used car and I’m torn between either the BMW 3Series or Acura TL (2003-2006) under 50k miles. I’ve done a couple of online searches for these cars and I must say that the Acura always comes out with way higher prices as compared to the BMW. So I want to know what’s so unique about the Acura or does the BMW depreciate its value rea quick. I need some good advise between these two cars. Thank you all!

A: I love my BMW 328i and my husband has a Acura TL. We’re always comparing cars and I usually win. I say go for the BMW!

Q: Does the 2006 Acura TL have an auxiliary jack in the OEM stereo system?
I am thinking about getting my mother in law an ipod for mother’s day, she has a 2006 acura TL and I am wondering if the vehicle has an auxilary jack in the stereo system.

A: No, the AUX feature is only available on the ‘07 and up TL’s. If you really want to be a great son-in-law, maybe you can buy this and install it. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_581PA15HON/USA-Spec-iPod-Interface.html?search=USA+Spec+VENDORID581&searchdisplay=USA+Spec

Q: I need help setting the clock of my 2004 Acura TL?
I bought a 2004 Acura TL and I need help setting the clock. It appears that the instruction manual can’t help me with this one. When I set the time, it tells me to put in a code. I put the code in and it says error. What do I do?

A: you need to hit the set-up button on the dash….should be right above your radio to the left of the little toggle joystick thing. there should be 4 menu options at the top of the screen. can’t recall which one it is under, but you click through the menus it should have an option for the time.

I have never heard of the TL asking for a code before. I have a 2004 TL and the only time I was asked to enter a code was when I was in an accident and had some heavy duty repairs to be made, they took the radio out.

Q: Should I trade in my 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee for a Acura TL?
Should I trade my 07 Jeep Grand Cherokee fully loaded in for a Acura TL? What do u think i should do??????
Thanks already for some input. I own about 17500 on the jeep. I get 16.5 mpg. I guess I’m considering this because of the rise in gas prices.

A: i would i love acuras

Q: Acura base TL 2002 transmisssions, what other yrs will work?
Have a sick acura tl just out of the warranty period for the transmission problem. It’s a 2002 base TL wondering what other year transmissions will work?

A: Any AT after 2005 should fit fine and not have the problems associated with your unit.

Q: How can I get in-dash navigation in my 2004 Acura TL?
OK, so I’m in the process of buying either a 6sp 2004 TL or a 6sp 2005 TSX. Apparently Acura screwed up when designing their radios, putting in a single din motorized or double din unit is very hard to do?

Has anyone done this? Is there anywhere that has a dash kit to do it?

Thanks

A: You could pick up some ABS and fabricate your own mounting kit, or fiberglass your own kit. Either way, I’ve not personally seen a kit for either vehicle you mentioned by a reputable dealer such as Metra or Scosche. There is a listing for a kit for the TSX on eBay, but no picture is provided.

http://cgi.ebay.com/2004-2005-ACURA-TSX-AUDIO-MOUNTING-KIT_W0QQitemZ300391177988QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Audio_Video?hash=item45f0b59f04

Are you looking for a Ford Crown Victoria?

Q: how can i fix my window in a ford crown victoria?
i have a 1997 ford crown victoria with power windows. the passenger window wont go up or down but the motor is good. does anyone with experience or have a crown vic know how to connect 1 of the 2 cables to the window? one cable is connected so i guess my problem is the other cable that is not connected. anyone know how to connect it? thanks.

A: sounds like you need a window regulator. most of the time when the cable is not connected it is broken.

Q: How do I find compatible more powerful engine for my 97 ford crown victoria???
I would like to put a bigger more powerful engine in my 97 ford crown victoria. I would like a 5.0 Mustang engine but i don’t know what to do or look for. Can someone help me???

A: I doubt you could put a 5.0 without having to switch all your wiring system over. But you can look around for the interceptor engines that the cops use in their crown vics. And to really give it balls, try to find their transmission as well.

Q: How come the police version of the Ford Crown Victoria are taxi’s? (See below)?
So I was in Chicago yesterday and I notcied a taxi. It was a ford crown victoria. I noticed the “Police interceptor” badge on the rear of the taxi. Then I saw that lightbulb on the drivers side thats above the rearview mirror. Why would a taxi have one of those lights on their cars that police use for finding fleeing-foot suspects? COuld this have been a donated car that was previously a taxi?

A: Because the Police Interceptors are built with heavy duty components (suspension, engine, cooling, etc.). Rather than having Ford build a separate model for taxi service, they just used PI models. I don’t think the spotlights are really used, they just come on the PI models.

Q: Which is a better overall car, Ford Crown Victoria LX or Chevy Caprice Classic?
I am looking to get either one of these cars for myself, I would use it everyday. Which is more reliable, safe, better looking, cheap to maintain, comfortable riding, powerful, cooler, better w/ gas, etc..
For the following years:
Ford Crown Victoria Lx (1995-1997)
Chevrolet Caprice Classic(1991-1996)

And I’m only interested in the civilian versions, the police package ones have lousy interiors.

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: does the gas tank have to be dropped on a 2004 ford crown victoria to replace the fuel pump?
does the gas tank have to be dropped on a 2004 ford crown victoria to replace the fuel pump?

A: Yes the tank has to come down to replace the pump.

Q: Why is the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor so popularly used even though it is so slow?
The newer Crown Victoria Police Interceptor has a 250 hp V-8 engine and accelerates 0-60 mph in nearly 9 seconds…8.75 seconds to be exact. Meanwhile, a V-6 Toyota Camry goes 0-60 in only 5.9 seconds. I know there is a weight difference between these two vehicles, but clearly using a different engine would make it a non-issue.

Why are the Police Interceptors outfitted with such small V-8 engines that render such slow acceleration?

A: Its very cheap to buy. Its very cheap to maintain. Its very durable because its got a full frame. Its got a lot of room for their computers, equipment, losers in the backseat.

Your Camry isn’t going to hold all that stuff. Its not going to take the abuse. Its going to cost more to buy.

If required the police have faster vehicles for high speed chases. They also have many cars, radios, and in larger cities helicopters.

Q: How much trunk space does a Ford Crown Victoria have?
It is a possibility that i get a Crown Victoria as my first car, and was wondering how much trunk space it has.

A: its about a ten body trunk. lol. but seriously the trunks are HUGE on those cars, that’s one reason the cops use them. they have to put a lot of equipment in the trunks like: radios, computers, safety gear, and cleaning equipment among other things.

Q: How can you retrieve the keycode on a 2002 Ford Crown Victoria?
I know the dealer can get it. But I been told that they usually have printed somewhere on the car. Does anyone happen to know where the code might be printed on a 02 crown victoria; its an LX model.

Trying to save some money

A: Gear box is correct………The code is under the door panel on the driver side door

Q: Can I install a limited slip differential in my 97 Ford Crown Victoria?
I have a low-mileage Crown Victoria, 1997. A good car, but now I live in hilly Pittsburgh and I really would like to have better traction in the winter! Was there a limited-slip rear end made for the 97 Crown Vic, and could that be installed in my car?

A: Yes, a limited slip or “Traction-Lok” carrier can be installed in place of the non-locking rear end. Just look into any Ford Motorsport catalogue and you’ll see them readily available. The price from Ford Motorsport will be significantly less than one purchased through the Ford dealer parts department. If you want to go cheaper than that, just source a used one out of any Ford product equipped with an 8.8″ rear end. Installation is just a direct bolt-in. Just make sure the backlash and ring gear tooth contact pattern is correct after installation. Don’t forget to add the friction modifier additive afterwards. Hope this helps.

Q: How much should it cost to have cruise control installed on my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria?
ive got a ford Crown Vic and i am tired of not having cruise control on my car, i thought it should come with it because its a retired cop car and it seems like they would want that on there anyway. but im just wondering how much it should cost to get it installed so i dont get ripped off. thanks!

A: You will need to install a steering wheel, and servo and cable assembly. Price can be around 5 to 7 hundred with new parts and labor, but labor rates are totally different from noth to south and east to west, so it could be cheaper down southeast and more north east. Junk yard parts would be the best way to go. Here is a site just for all your Police car cruise control questions.

http://www.p71interceptor.com/cruise/

10 points would be nice

Q: How do you feel about the Ford Crown Victoria Lx?
Im 16 and found a 1997 ford crown vic LX, I know that they are very reliable and safe, but what do you think of them as far as looks, style, interiors and power. Also im not interested in the police version of this car because they have crappy interiors. Thanks!
and I would keep it all stock, big rims and sound systems are a waste of time and money and just look ridiculus.

A: As you said: they are reliable and safe. They are a proven design in police and fleet service, with lots of aftermarket support; Ford has built a boatload of these cars over the past 18 years (2 model generations). And, because the model is popular with an older demographic, you can often find used examples at a reasonable price that have been maintained and treated pretty well. They are generally cheaper to insure than other models owing to their classification, size and theft rates.

The 4.6 V8 is pretty bulletproof, easy to service and there are plenty of tuning kits and performance parts available because it’s common to the Mustang. I like their looks versus the corresponding GM and Chrysler models.

The police version does come with quite a few performance / heavy service goodies you don’t get with an LX, e.g. higher HP engine, heavier springs, shocks, transmission, brakes, bigger alternator, etc. But the creature comforts don’t match the LX.

One option I would avoid is the automatic climate control system. These are no more trouble-prone on the Crown Vic than on any other model, but Ford buries the controls on these deep in the dash – such that they are almost impossible to service. Dealer charges big bucks for labor on this job; I am the voice of experience on this.

The Crown Vic is a good, solid car with a lot of potential; you could do lots worse, and you could sure make one a fun first-car project.

Good luck!

Q: How can I install 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis side body trim on to a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria?
I have the side trim from a 2004 Grand Marquis and i am trying to install it onto my 2000 Crown Victoria police interceptor for a better look. because my Crown Victoria has no trim at all.
I need to what tools and supplies that I will need for this job also.

A: WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY!

Q: whats the first thing that pops in your mind when you think of a ford crown victoria?
Kinda of like when you think of a ford taurus you think bad transmition, are ford crown victrias good or bad?

A: Land Yacht … my brother had one …
gas guzzler …

Yuck!

I love Nissan’s (Have not had good luck with American cars unfortunately … Wish I could find one that was good)

Q: how would i locate the o2 sensors in a 2001 ford crown victoria?
i have a 2001 ford crown victoria and my o2 sensors are bad i went to the mechanics but they were trying to charge me an arm and a leg so i was wondering how i would locate the o2 sensors in my car so i could do it by myself. thank you ahead of time
trouble code: p1151 i think it is the upstream

A: start by checking exhaust system at exhaust manifold to rear

Q: Chevrolet Suburban VS. Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor?
I’m deciding on what car to buy between a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceotor or Chevy Suburban. I’m really looking for speed. The police intereceptors hp ranges to about 235 on the 2003 models, with 275 pound feet of torque…. which is impressive. But the suburbans, gets 290-352 HP on the new model, with about 410 lb feet of torque. my question is, which vehicle would be able to fly faster? my dad thinks the for may be able to considering that its lighter, and that the suburban is more made for power, and the suburban is a heavier vehicle. I still think that the suburban could beat the ford with all the horses and torque it has. Is my dad right or Am I? what is your opinion? remember im looking for the fastest out of these two. thanks, tony

A: I have a Buick Roadmaster, which is similar to the Crown Vic. They have similar-sized engines and hp too. My parents have a Suburban, so I’ve driven both a lot. They’re about equal in speed. I think the Vic would be a little faster. But other things to consider is that a police car is gonna have a lot of miles, but get much better gas mileage. My Roadmaster gets up to 30mpg. A Suburban is around 15. A Vic is waaaaay more comfortable too. They’re surprisingly powerful, and faster than the Suburban. I’d go with the Crown Vic. I have a GM preference, but assuming you don’t care who makes it, go with the Vic.

Are you looking for a Subaru Legacy?

Q: How much is my Subaru Legacy Station Wagon worth?
I’ve got a Subaru Legacy Station Wagon 1.8 DL (no 4×4 + 5 gearbox) in a mint condition and it has got a little less than 100.000 miles. It passed a technical control two weeks without any problems.

Being from Europe I don’t know if this version was available in the US but how much do you think it is worth today?

A: go to www.nadaguides.com and type in your vehicles information. Click on the used car button first and then go from there.

Q: Why has my 1997 Subaru Legacy Wagon been getting very poor gas mileage?
I have a 1997 Subaru Legacy Wagon with about 80,000 miles on it in the Northeast United States. The last few tanks, I have been averaging only 10 to 11 miles per gallon. This is all city driving, but this 4-cylinder car should still be getting much better mileage. Do you have any idea what could be wrong?
The oil was changed recently.

Tire inflation is correct.
I checked the manual, and the car requires 87 gasoline, which I have been using.

A: I think that if you have the aforementioned black tailpipe soot buildup, then I’d concentrate on the temp sensor and the Oxygen Sensor(s). The temperature sensor will be likely cheaper to replace yourself. It’s relatively easy to locate between the Power steering reservoir and the alternator(getting a $20 Haynes repair manual at Advanced Auto or AutoZone type store for your car will help with simple repairs like this. This link to autohausaz.com has the sensor for like $23. If you need some other parts for your car or want to order both O2 sensors too, they do free ground UPS shipping for any order over $50.

http://sd.autohausaz.com/autohausaz/detailw.jsp?sid=mvlo1w450xmsziusyojwgp45&partner=autohausaz&year=1997&make=13&model=406~105~88~~121~~6@Legacy%20L,%202.2%20H4,%20AWD&category=240621@Fuel%20Injection&part=240675@Water%20Temp.%20Sensor

The Oxygen sensors are expensive enough that I’d test them first before replacing them. They can be real bears to remove due to rust issues and tight quarters under the car. With 80k on your car and if you know for sure that the O2 sensors haven’t been replaced since the car was new, it’s a pretty good bet that they are part of the problem. Compare what Advanced Auto gets for their Bosch brand O2 sensors with what autohausaz and some other outlets get for them. O2 sensors are all pretty much the same, the important part is that the connectors fit your car and the wires are long enough. If you are good at soldering and heat shrinking, you could buy generic O2 sensors with the correct number of wires for your car(usually 3.4.or 5) and save some money that way. For what shops charge for repairs these days, it pays to get dirty and fix this stuff yourself.

Good luck

Q: Does anyone know where I can find a decently priced bra for my 97 Subaru Legacy?
I’m driving an old Subaru Legacy and I’d love to cover up the chips on the front bumper by using a car bra. I’ve looked on ebay and some other sites, but can’t find one for under $75. If you know of anyone selling one or a site that can help please let me know. Thanks!

A: Try Craigslist.com

Q: How many miles can you get out of a Subaru Legacy Outback, usually?
I’ve got a ‘98 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon, that has about 167K miles on it… how many miles can one usually get out of them if they’re properly maintained?

A: Ive seen older subie wagons with over 300k on them.

Q: Is the trunk pass through access hole in the 2005 Subaru Legacy large enough to lay in a snowboard?
I have a snowboard and I would like to know if I can fit one in the trunk to the rear seat area through the access hole in the Subaru Legacy Sedan?

A: yes you can.

Q: What problems with 1994 Subaru Legacy GT automatic at 91000kms?
Hi,

What problems are common with Automatic twin turbo 1994 Subaru Legacy GT’s that have done 91,000 KMS (56,544 miles)

I know that the timing belt will be nearer is due date. What else should I look at when buying this car?

A: this is an excellent car!!!

OK, take shields off of the turbos if possible and make sure there’s no cracks or leaks on their housings. If you see oil or cracks, they need replaced. Also check the manifold leading from the engine to the turbo, this is a popular place for cracks to form.

Check the driveshafts (CV joints), if they’re cracked and you see/feel grease they need replaced. Look at the steering joints where it comes out of the rack, they are prone to splitting too.

Popular rust spots on this car are on the rear fenders directly behind the rear wheel where the bumper meets fender, and by the gas fill. Check with a magnet to make sure they’re not just filled with putty.

Drive the car forwards and reverse in tight circles at low speed. Make sure everything’s smooth and you don’t hear thumping. If you do, probably replace driveshafts.

Drive down the road at full throttle and look for oil coming out the tailpipe. If its not burning oil and feels strong and smooth you probably have a good engine.

Good luck!

Q: How much weight can you put in a 2000 Subaru legacy wagon?
i have a 2000 Subaru legacy wagon and i am building a walk way to my house. i need sand for this walk way. the bags are 50lbs each. how much weight can i safely put in the back of my Subaru?

A: Total weight in the car 1000 pounds. Total towing is about 2000 pounds.

Q: Occassional Stall in a 91 Subaru Legacy Wagon?
My 1991 Subaru Legacy Wagon AWD Automatic starts and drives fine but begins to “sputter” after about 5 minutes. Sometimes it stalls and sometimes it will keep going and the sputtering stops for a while (a few miles), then it sputters again.

What could cause this?

A: It sounds to me like your fuel pump is going out. basically is what happens is when you first start you car it is running fine but when you drive it for a minute it starts to heat up and it doesnt pump enough fuel causing the car to sputter. I had the same problem on my 97 mustang a while back.

Q: what is the proper procedure to bleed the cooling system for subaru legacy?
92 Subaru Legacy, BC2, EJ18, thermostat does not open even with a new one, and radiator fan does not stop and that happen after replacing water pump and filling the coolant. bleeder plug has been opened, even the car has been jacked at the front. still the radiator fan working and thermostat does not open.

A: go to http://www.ultimatesubaru.org
go to the forum section, then the new generation section.
There are probably quite a few people who can help.

I think some of the guys fill the engine up thru the top coolant hose, then install it. That’s what I did the last time.

Dumb question I know, thermostat in right?

Q: Where can I buy the little button on the parking brake of my ‘96 Subaru Legacy?
My sister has a 1996 Subaru Legacy. She broke the little button that releases the parking brake. I’d like to fix it for her.

A: Try the link below. They have everything you need.

Q: How do I get my 1998 Subaru Legacy AWD to get more than 12 MPG!! I should get 21 mpg. ?
I bought a 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback AWD – it has 85,000 and I only get 12 miles to the gallon. I get exactly 100 miles for half a tank of gas which comes out to about 12 mpg when I should be getting 21mpg. Any thoughts?

A: For one I had a Subaru just not the one you have now . Vary good car . OK now to your question .
New Tires : Run your tires around 32psi
Tune Up : Plugs , Wire , Rotor Cap . etc .
Timing : Have your timing checked . IF it is off by a few degrees it will cost you in the long run .
Have your Fuel Filter changed as well .
Oil : Change it ” if you have had that done already ” .
Brakes ” yes your brakes can have a lot in the play with gas mileage ” .
Here is some thing that most people do not pay attention on . Your tires are SPEED RATED .
Example : 2006 Chevrolet Corvette, C6 : Tire rating is a Z rated tire meaning for high speeds .
Chevrolet Cobalt : tire rating is H rating meaning low speeds .
which results to better gas mileage than the Corvette C6 .
For me i prefer trucks but that just me I guess . I own a 1996 Chevy Silverado Z71 4×4 .

i hope that gives you some ideas to look at . Have a wonderful weekend .

Q: what cars are similar to the 1992 subaru legacy?
i have a 1992 subaru legacy and im looking 2 buy a body kit. 1 problem, they dont make body kits 4 that car. so i need 2 know what cars would be similar enough to make a custom kit out of.

A: look at any kit that will fit or is made for the EVOs
the Legacy can have the same style but the side skirts and front peices and rear will be longer and bigger.

Q: Know of a 2003 Subaru legacy performance exhaust upgrade package for purchase?
I have a 2003 Subaru Legacy LSE sedan. I am interested in upgrading the exhaust to a performance exhaust system and was wondering if anyone has ever done an exhaust upgrade to this model or knows of a exhaust system package available for purchase.
i have looked at alot of web sites that sell performance exhaust kits… but none are specifically for the 2003 legacy. I wonder if a kit for a 2005 would fit a 2003… any ideas?

A: www.raceinspired.com , www.fluidmotorsports.com , www.directtuning.com Those are some trusted sites I do business with, they should have an exhaust system. Id also go with a intake and a midpipe. Although not necessary.

Q: Any used subaru legacy or impreza foe sale?
Im lookin for any used subaru legacy or impreza excluding wagons (sports wagon are ok). Under 60,000 miles. Between the years 2003 and 2006. My budget is 10,000 dollars. I need to be located around the washington dc area like virginia or maryland or something.

A: Could try http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=127. Mostly parts but cars do pop up also. You can also try some of the surrounding regions too if you are willing to travel a little.

Q: Did I get a good deal on this Subaru Legacy?
Just put a deposit on a 1997 Subaru legacy with 118k miles and a 2.2 L engine size (non problematic engine). We are going to get it inspected on Tuesday, and if all goes well we will buy it for the negotiated price of $2750 Do you think this is good?

A: well you could have
type into search box

how to check used car

follow checklist look for signs of problems
type year model forsale can look at whats others selling for

Q: How Much Would Insurance Cost For a 2004 Cadillac CTS for a 20 Year Old?
Im currently looking into getting rid of my ‘old 1994 Mustang GT’ and replacing it with a ‘2004 Cadillac CTS’. How much would insurance be for me a month?

A: Try this site

http://affordinsurance.notlong.com

Here you can compare quotes from different companies

Q: Does the pop screen on the 2008 Cadillac CTS come standard?
I know this pop up screen is available when you purchase the 2008 Cadillac CTS with the nav system, but if you opt out of the nav system, do you still get the pop up screen to control the radio functions?

A: i think you have to get the nav system

Q: Should I get an Audi A4 or a Cadillac CTS?
I can’t decide between an Audi A4 or a Cadillac CTS. they are both very nice cars, but I’m leaning towards the CTS because of the performance factor. The Audi is classy, but the CTS has that, ‘high-life’ vibe about it.
Anyone that drives one or knows about them feel free to answer.

A: The CTS certainly stands out more. Most people would be hard pressed to tell an A4 from an A6, for example. Audis are a dime a dozen around here, so personally I’d go with the CTS.

Q: What is the song in the new ad for the Cadillac CTS-V?
I like the song in the new spot for the Cadillac CTS-V. Does anyone out there know the name of it and who sings it?

Thanks

A: “Lovesick” by Lindstrom feat. Christabelle

Q: Is a Cadillac CTS a good reliable car?
I currently have a Toyota Camry with 170,000 miles. Great car never had any problems with it, Toyotas are great.

I really like Cadillacs and have had my eye on the CTS the 6 cylinder version for a while now. Looking at ones in the 7-10k range found some with like 80k miles on them. I know a Cadillac won’t be a Toyota in terms of its life, maintenance, etc but overall are they pretty reliable good cars?

A: General Motors’ rear-wheel-drive Cadillac CTS has Consumer Reports’ Much-Worse-Than-Average or Worse-Than-Average Reliability Verdict for the following model years:

2003
2005
2006
2007
2008.

The rear-wheel-drive CTS is on AutoOnInfo.net’s list of the Worst Automobiles of 2009, with a Composite Reliability Value of -.50 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00.

And AutoOnInfo.net’s detailed reliability and durability studies suggest that a typical 22-year-old Toyota vehicle should be about as troublesome to own as a typical 3-year-old Cadillac.

For an overview of the quality of General Motors’ vehicles, see:

http://www.AutoOnInfo.net/NAEd200812TheCompositeReliabilityLineAverages.htm .

Q: What exactly does that snowflake botton do on the 2005 Cadillac CTS?
I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS…there is this button of that looks like a snowflake on it…I press it whenever there is snow on the ground…but Honestly I dont feel any difference…the CTS suck in snow cause of the rear wheel drive…it still spins…

What exactly is that button supposed to do???

A: I think it only works when you are in drive. It starts your car out in 2nd gear so it minimizes wheel slippage when its snowing/icy or w/e da fuc is going on.

Q: Which car should I buy, a 2008 G35 Sedan or a 2008 Cadillac CTS?
I know that G35 has consistently done well in the past as far as quality and reliability but I don’t know much about Cadillac CTS. Is the CTS a reliable/quality car. I know the CTS for 2008 has gotten many rave reviews from its new look to many of its features. Also which is cheaper to service…

A: G35

Q: How to use Ipod in Cadillac CTS 2004?
I just bought a used 2004 Cadillac CTS and it has no AUX port for an Ipod.. was wondering if there is anything I could do to use an Ipod in my Caddy? Is there a certain navigation system that would fit good that allows an Ipod?

A: You could use an FM transmitter, but they are notorious for static.
For my nephews birthday, I had an auxiliary port installed in his car. I went to Best-Buy. It took about a half hour. It looks like it came from the factory with it. Works great…

Q: I just bought a 2005 3.6L Cadillac CTS. Are the cars good in performance?
I bought a 2005 Cadillac CTS w/ a 3.6L engine about 2 days ago. The ride is smooth and I just love the features like the navigation system and the sunroof. It has automatic windows, keyless entry, 6 cd changer, everything you might want in a luxury sedan. The question i’m asking is if it is a good performance car or not.

A: If your car has the Sport Package which includes the front stability bar, limited slip differential, and Stabilitrac, your car is just as good of a performance car as the competition of that year. If you have the original window sticker, it will tell you what options you have.

The CTS is a rear wheel drive vehicle that has now developed into Motor Trends “Car of the Year” and easily matches the performance of it’s current competition. Your 2005 however, has nothing in common with the 2008 except the name. I had 4 2006 – 2007 CTS’s and they can run with the best of them (with the 3.6L). The 2005 CTS engine is the same as the 2006 & 2007. Good luck and enjoy your car!

Q: will 22 inch rims fit on a stock cadillac cts?
I plan to put rims on my 2006 cadillac cts but i dont wanna raise the car so i figure 20s will be good but i can get a great deal on 22 inch trump floaters but I want to know will 22 fit on my lac with out raising it?

A: yeah should be sweet

Q: Why is my key stuck in the ignition and why won’t my car shift into gear? It’s a 2003 Cadillac CTS.?
I have a 2003 Cadillac CTS that won’t shift out of park or allow me to remove the key from the ignition sometimes. My “service theft system” light comes on also. One day, while the car was on, my husband got out to get something and the car locked him out. Can anyone give suggestions before I go to the Cadillac dealership and spend a bunch of money? Also, could using a battery other than AC Delco affect the car’s system?

A: Sounds like a “shift interlock cable” could be binding or the “ignition switch” is not working properly. The shift interlock cable is designed to only allow the driver to move the shifter in/out of gear with the break pedel depressed with the key in the “run” or “on” position. Or the switch is binding not allowing the key to be removed. The batter would not cause this proble.

Q: I have a 2003 Cadillac CTS I keep getting a message on my navigation screen that reads stability system ingage?
my 2003 Cadillac CTS gives me a message on the navigation screen that raeds “stability system engaged” and when this happens the car pulls hard to the right. anyone have any ideas. Thanks

A: It means its time for a visit to the dealer

Q: How can i set up my Bluetooth on my Cadillac CTS 2003?
Can any of you help me set up my Bluetooth to my cadillac CTS 03. Im pretty sure i got the phone part but i cant figure out the car part. and i cant find it on my owners manual. Just incase this helps i have a sidekick LX

A: That car isn’t Bluetooth compatible. That’s why you can’t find it in the owners manual.

Q: What is the expected life of a cadillac cts?
I am looking into purchasing a used cts and am wondering what the engine and transmission life (mileage) is.

A: With proper care and maintenance, 250,000 miles is not unheard of, years and years if well taken care of. Good luck. Oh, Caddy has a longer factory warranty than most GM vehicles from the get go.

Q: Where is oil pan located on 2009 Cadillac CTS?
Please does anybody know where the oilpan on a 09 cadillac cts is located?

A: If you can’t find the oil pan on any car, you should not be attempting to do your own service.

Q: Who around here drives a modified 98 toyota 4runner with extreme offroad capabilities?
I need to know where I can get accessories such as 3inch suspension lift, safari rack, rock sliders, hi-lift jack, etc…mainly offroad shizznit! 98 toyota 4runner.

A: Try out these 2 sites :

http://www.downeyoff-road.com/

http://www.4wheelparts.com/

If you are looking to make a rock crawler though, check out your local 4 X 4 clubs. A lot of those guy can fabricate stuff for you. But with only a 3 inch lift, I suspect you arenʻt doing any major off-roading.

Q: Can I lift a Toyota 4Runner with Automatic?
Can I lift a 1999 Toyota 4Runner with automatic transmission? Also, what type of tire would you recommend for mild off roading?

A: Not recomended after 1995 but yes you can. Will never ride the same nor gauges will not read right either.

Q: How do I check the transmission fluid on a 1999 Toyota 4runner?
How do I check the transmission fluid on a 1999 Toyota 4runner? I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find the dipstick for the trans fluid I can find the engine oil, but not tranny, anyone know? I’ll be forever in debt. THANKS!
Manual Trans, and I have NO MANUAL

A: Yes the owner’s manual should have the information provided it is an auto.
If not try the dealer.

Q: How to change brake light on a 2006 Toyota 4Runner truck?
I posted this question before but did not get the answer. I have a 2006 Toyota 4Runner and the 3rd brake light went out. It is on the top part of the trunk door. I do not have the wing, and cannot see anywhere inside the truck where to unscrew the bulb. The only thing I can think of is to pry the plastic cover from outside the truck. I was hoping someone can help me before i break something. Thank you.

A: Okay, you’re on the right track. Under the tail light assembly, there are 5 fitting claws that hold it in place on the outside, you can use a flat head screw driver to pry upwards from underneath the bottom egde, disconnect the power from the tail light assembly, and remove the two screws from the back of the tail light assebly, the bulb twists out. That should do it, if not, let me know and I will try to find what I missed.

Q: What is a good dual exhaust to put on a 2000 toyota 4runner?
I have a 2000 toyota 4runner and am looking to get dual exhaust put on it and dont know too much about it. i want a deep loud rumble tone and am not sure if i like split rear or split side exhaust. any suggestions please help.

A: magnaflow. go to a custom exhasut shop and they can do it no problem. prolly 3-3.5″ in dia.

Q: How do you change 3rd brake light bulb on a 2006 Toyota 4Runner?
I have a 2006 Toyota 4Runner and I can’t find the owner’s manual. My 3rd brake light (high mount on trunk) went out. I want to change the bulb but can’t find any information online. Neither what bulb I need or how to change it. Does any one have the information or a link? Thank you.

A: Need answers for Land Cruisers, 4Runners? Try www.IH8MUD.com , or TLCA . Nice Toyota community for the 4 wheeler type.

Q: Is the automatic transmission from a 1997 Toyota 4runner compatible with a 2002 4runner?
I have a 2002 Toyota 4runner V6 4×4 and the transmission is nuked. I have a handle on a 1997 4Runner V6 4X4 with an auto trans. I just want to know if the two are cross compatible before I tear into them.

A: same engines the same .different engines no won’t work will have different bolt pattern for bell housing also check the wiring on the trans might be different connections for solenoids(for which you would have to pull the pan to change anything over) neutral safety switch and vehicle speed sensor along with anything on the t-case

Q: How much would a used 1999/1998 toyota 4runner go for?
If I found a used toyota 4runner in good/fair condition, how much would it probably cost? Year 1998 or 1999.

A: Normally about $6,000 but with Toyota’s current problems if you search a lot you can get one for about $3,000 form someone trying to get rid of before their family dies in it.

Q: Where is the spare tire changing kit located on 1993 Toyota 4Runner?
I just obtained a 1993 Toyota 4Runner. I could not locate the spare tire changing kit. Where is it normally stored? Help please!

A: Theres 2 small storeage compartments on each side in the back by the tailgate it should be in the 1 on the drivers side

Q: How many quarts of oil do I put in a toyota 4runner 1994 SR5 V6?
My GF has a toyota 4runner but her manual doesnt state how much oil to put in during an oil change. Ive done some research but nothing has come up.
My GF has a toyota 4runner but her manual doesnt state how much oil to put in during an oil change. Ive done some research but nothing has come up. Theres also nothing in the owners manual. Nor the official website (since it doesnt register 1994 cars)

A: It will take 4.8 quarts with filter.

Update: The 3VZ-E V6 is 4.8 quarts, the horsepower is 150, the torque is 180 ft. lbs. Anything else you need to know. I have Shopkey software from my dealer that gives specs for most vehicles. Need info on the 4 cylinder also? I have that too.

Q: My 1995 toyota 4runner wont shift into first when stopped, i have to do it manually, what do i do?
I’ve got a 1995 toyota 4runner, 4×4 v6, and when i start up and drive, it’s fine, but when i slow down and stop, then pull forward again, it stays in a higher gear unless i manually shift it down to low then back up to drive. any ideas what’s wrong?

A: Take a look at this online factory service manual.

http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/autotrans.html

Look at the general troubleshooting section for your transmission. You can find out which transmission you have by looking at the code sticker on your drivers side door frame. It’s usually on the bottom right of the sticker.

Q: How hard is it to find a 4 cylinder, 4 wheel drive, toyota 4runner with an automatic transmission?
Im trying to look for a 1990-93 or 1996-2000 4runner with a 4cyl, 4 wheel drive, automatic.

The reason i am looking for a 4cyl instead of a V6 becuase the V6 uses more gas than a 4 cylinder. I want a fuel efficient automatic transmission and reliable off road veichle.

It seems that its so hard to find a toyota 4runner used like this. All of the used 4runners i see for sale are V6.

V6=gas guzzler

A: They don’t make the 4runner with a 4 cylinder only a V6 or V8.

Q: I have a toyota 4runner, that would not pick up fast whenever am trying to accelerate(maybe from a light stop
I have a Toyota 4runner, that would not pick up fast whenever am trying to accelerate(maybe from a light stop). What might be wrong g and the mileage on the car is 64,000. Do I need to check the timers belt, the tune-up or do the 60,000 mile servicing for the car.

A: You can start with a tune up. Doing the recommended service is always good.

Q: how much would it cost to replace alternator in Toyota 4Runner?
i recently changed my car battery and it was drained overnight. i have already checked the fuses and they were all okay, and was wondering if the alternator is the one that is causing the problem. how much does it cost to replace the alternator in my Toyota 4Runner?
i would appriciate any help.

A: a bad alternator will not cause your battery to drained overnight. if your battery is new and dead the very next morning, could be that you have a parasitic draw. meaning there is something that is staying on, like a bulb, that should not be. a charging test will tell you if your alternator is bad.
to do either of these tests you will need a DMM (digital multimeter).
to test for parasitic draw: disconnect the negative battery cable. set your DMM to amps. place one lead to the negative cable end, and the other to the negative battery terminal. if you get more than about 37 mili amps, you have a parasitic draw somewhere. start disconnecting stuff to see if it goes away. when it does, that is the system with your draw.
to test your alternator: preferably a hand held starting/charging tester is the way to test your alternator. but if you don’t have one, you can try with the DMM. with the engine running, turn all accessories on (radio, A/C, lights), place your red lead of the DMM to the positive battery terminal and the negative lead to the negative battery terminal. you should get around 13-14volts. if it’s around 11 or 12 or under, your alternator is probably bad.
good luck!

Q: How hard is it to change break pads on a Toyota 4Runner?
How hard is it to change break pads on a 1997 Toyota 4Runner?

A: You should probably get yourself a repair manual for this procedure if you’ve never replaced brake pads before. This will save you time and headaches.

Are you looking for a Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Q: Difference between Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and Rocky Mountain Edition?
Hi. I’m planning on buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee soon and couldn’t decide between the Laredo and Rocky Mountain packages. I know that Rocky Mountain has some more features but was wondering whether there are any external body differences between the models. From looking at pictures, it seemed like the Rocky Mountain was a little lower to the ground than the Laredo, but I might be mistaken. Thanks in advance.

A: Rocky Mountain Edition is the luxury edition.

Q: Does the stock navigation on a 05 Jeep Grand cherokee work in hawaii?
I bought an 05 Jeep grand Cherokee with a stock navigation unit minus the navigation disc in here in Hawaii and nobody can give me a straight answer on if it will work. I have spoken with multiple Jeep dealers and called jeep headquarters, all with the same result. Please someone help.

A: You need the NAV disc. Most OEM systems have only the continental US states in their hard drives. Check ebay or amazon for one if you want to save yourself a few bucks.

Q: How do I inspect 2005 jeep grand cherokee brake pads?
I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L. It has 57k miles with 90% of that highway driving. When should I change my brake pads and how can I inspect them?

A: Most brake shops do free inspections

Q: How many mpg does 1998 jeep grand cherokee laredo has?
I bought a 1998 jeep grand cherokee laredo and was wondering how many mpg it has. I forgot to ask the person I bought it from. But any was just wondering, it’s bothering me that I don’t know.

A: If it’s a 6cyl it’s about 18mpg overall. If it’s a V8 it’s about 16mpg overall. I have a V8 and I get about 19mpg overall because I know how to drive efficiently.

Q: Jeep Grand cherokee Headlights turn on and off without key?
2001 Jeep grand cherokee headlights when on auto.. Car off and keys out of ignitiion after about five minutes the lights turn on and off. What can be the problem? I cant keep them on auto becasue this problem.. thanks
YEs and will happen on and on all night.

A: It might be the “coming home” function. if I recall correctly. You say they stay on after you shut the truck off, and then go off after five minutes right?

Q: How much trunk space does a Jeep Grand Cherokee have when the seats are folded down?
I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and was wondering if a 90 inch couch would fit in the back?

A: In pieces, yes. The long way? No.
But if you have a bungee cord or some ratchet straps, you could leave the rear hatch partially open, and secure it closed with the straps.
Have at it chap!

Q: What exactly does a transmission leak in a Jeep Grand Cherokee mean?
I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee with just around 100K miles on it. I live in cold winter weather, so I’m nervous as the cold nears and just looking for some insight into what this could mean for the winter. Is this the begining of the end of my ‘older’ car?

A: No. Seals wear, constrict, crack, etc over time and mileage. This is normal. Your transmission has a leak. You need to have it diagnosed and fixed. If you do not and the fluid runs low, you will do damage to the transmission. It could be something simple like a pan gasket. Get it checked out.

Q: What year did Jeep Start putting a V8 in their Jeep Grand Cherokee?
I want to buy a Jeep grand cherokee, both for trail riding and everyday use, but I don’t want a 6cyl. The body style I want (no plastic bottom effects) I can only find in V6?

A: and if you are looking at the older ones, the six cylinder models are inline, not V engines.

Q: What differentials come stock on a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited?
There’s a bit of a debate. Does the 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited come with a Dana 35 in the front and the Dana 44 in the rear?

OR

Is it matching Dana 44 front and rear matching?

A: Neither.

Dana 30 front and Dana 35 rear.

Q: 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee Silver- How to make it look good?
I am thinking of purchasing a 98 jeep grand cherokee limited in the silver color. I think that silver is a bit boring but the car is just too awesome to pass up. What can I do to spice it up a bit? Thanks.

A: Chrome accents, car wax

Q: What is the right way to put a 94 jeep Grand cherokee Limited in 4×4?
how to put a 1994 jeep grand cherokee in 4 wheel drive?
Do you have to put it in (N) can you be driven?

A: you can be driving when shifting from 2wd to 4H……you must stop to put it in 4L……

Q: Can someone explain the difference between a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4×2 and a 4×4?
I’m looking into buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee but I don’t understand the difference between the 4×2 and the 4×4. Does the 4×2 only have 2-wheel drive? Is 4 wheel drive optional? How about the 4×4 – does this have 4 wheel drive running all the time or can you switch back and forth between 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive to conserve on gas?

A: the 4×2 jeep grand cherokee will have a solid axle up front(no front differential), no transfer case, and no shift handle for 4×4 operations.
4×4 grand cherokee is exactly that. it is 4 wheel drive and will have a transfer case shift lever.
the full time all wheel drive ( grand cherokee limited v-8 as an example) has no 2 wheel drive
selection available. just high, neutral, and low range. in part time cases you run in 2 wheel drive mode until you need 4 wheel drive. the advantage to this is better fuel economy. in my case i own a 94 grand cherokee limited 4×4 and it is a full time all wheel drive system and the 318 V-8. fuel economy is about 18 mpg for my jeep.

Q: Is it more expensive to insure a Jeep Grand Cherokee than it is for a normal sedan?
I’m looking into buying a new(used) car, and I am debating between a 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5SE or a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the V8 engine. I would love to own the jeep, I’ve always wanted one but I could never afford the gas. Now my question is, would the insurance on that model Jeep be a drastic amount more than the insurance cost on the Nissan sedan? Any help you can give me is appreciated.

Thanks!

A: I have met similiar kind of problem before, here www.Autoinsurancepro.info is the resource that I feel helpful..

Q: How do you install a motor blower in a 94 jeep grand cherokee?
So I have a 94 jeep grand cherokee without a motor blower. I already have the part and I was wondering if it was something I could install on my own without going to a shop. I am looking for instructions on where the blower is located and how to replace it.

A: go to auto parts store and get a book haynes repair manual.

Q: How much would a new windshield replacement cost for a Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Hey guys, I was just driving on the freeway and a small rock hit on the windshield of my Jeep Grand Cherokee causing a crack about a foot long, which is currently spreading. How much do you think it would cost to have the windshield replaced?

A: try looking here

if you have one you are looking to get rid of or know anyone that does, let me know.
THANKS

A: Autotrader.com has 842 of them, ranging in price from $9,700 to $51,412.

Q: What are some bad things about the Buick Enclave??
We are getting a new car and can’t pick between an Enclave or an Escalade. What are the good things and bad things about each car??

Thanks!!

A: Well its a buick it probably have low resale value like most gm vehicles they don’t seen to last as long as hondas and toyotas but thats my opinion.

Q: What is the song from the new buick enclave commercial. Its a hip hop song?

A: Lyrical gangsta (gangster)
I’m not sure who sings it -

Q: Why do the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook all have different MPG ratings with the same powertrain?

A: body weight, style, horsepower, accessories, tires, torque, brake horsepower ,engine type.

Q: have a Buick Enclave, should I go by manufactures suggested oil change intervals?
they are saying 12-14 thousand mi.

A: Hi Herman:

O.K. if you do a LOT of highway driving. It takes 7 miles driving just to get the oil to temperature even though the temperature gage shows normal in two or three miles.

Short drips? lots of them less than 10 miles? or/and in cold weather. then 3 to 5 K .

You can increase the mileage by using a synthetic oil as they stay clean longer .

It ALL depends on the driving YOU do?

Q: Please tell me about the Buick Enclave!!!!?
I would really like some personal info from drivers of the Buick Enclave. Please give me some feedback!

A: The Buick Enclave is a wonderful car. It is the best SUV that General Motors have ever made. It is a fundamentally sound car that should last a lifetime. This is what GM should have been building all along, it is a bonifide winner. Just one problem, one teeny problem. Gas is $4.00 a gallon, it is reasonable to assume; a 20 gallon tank at $4.00 a gallon will cost $60-80 to fill up a tank of gas. At 13 mpg city, you may get 230-256 miles on a tank of gas before fill up. Best case scenario, 18 mpg which is the average for a SUV of this size and weight, your looking at 300-327 miles on a tank of gas. Gas prices may not be as much of an issue for you, if not the Buick Enclave awaits you. Cheers.

Q: GMC Arcadia or Buick Enclave?
Would you rather have a 2008 GMC Arcadia or a 2008 Buick Enclave? Why?

A: Same exact thing just different tags under GM that thing is an over weight midsized SUV, look into other vehicles that are much better than those, look at the New RAV4 with the 270 hp engine that gets much better gas mileage, is faster, more reliable and holds it value better.

Q: How is the Buick Enclave?
Those of you who have this car, give me your thoughts on it. Also is there a lot of trunck space in the back since the website does not show, could you fit a full size suitcase in the trunck that is laying down? Thanks!

A: I dont own one but i know friends in LA, that have one and i have ridden in theres and i remember it was a really lovely to drive in it was the quitest ive ever been in, and i have owned alot of nice cars, sorry i m not sure about the rear for room i never used that.

Q: 2008 Buick Enclave vs 2008 Saturn Outlook vs 2008 Toyota Highlander?
I would like to see opinions if we compare these models based on:
-Reliability
- Road feel
- Price
- Gas consumption
- Ext & Int. styling, safety, price, misc.

Overall bang for the buck !

A: Enclave- No doubt but they are hard to find. Buick is tied with Lexus with the most reliable car. They will hold their resale value well since it is hard to get Enclave and they are not sold to rental car companies that often.

Q: Buick Enclave vs. Saturn Outlook?
I am looking at a 2008 Buick Enclave or Saturn Outlook…what is your opinion on these? I currently have a 2003 Ford Explorer.

Also any other cars you might thing would be good are welcome.

Thanks!

A: all of these, the Outlook, the GMC, the Buick are all the same. There is no difference edx ept for the name. In Nov of 07, we got an ‘08 Outlook. It is my primary vechile. I opted for the second row captian seats. I also opted for the second “moon roof” (not a sun roof) it has a sunroof up front and a moon roof in the back.

The model we bought is power everything, and it has heated seats. The seats also have memory seats for two different drivers. The key fob is dedicated for each driver. So you need to make sure if you use memory postions and there are two drivers that you each use the correct key for that seat position. When you click the unlock on the key fob, it automaticaly sets for that driver.

The car drives fantasticaly, handles well,. and wherever I go, people ask me about it and say how great it looks.

About a year before we brought the Outlook, my brother got the GMC Acciada. It is exactly the same body. They all have the same options, it just depends on what you choose.

As far as colors, we got the “tri coat diamond” w/tan leather interior. The lighter colors have more of a “pop”.

A lot of people think that b/c it’s a Saturn that it is lower quality. But the truth is, 1) Saturn is no longer the “first time buyers” car, and 2) it is the same as all GMC modles. Kind of like Chrysler and Dodge, sae cars, different names.

Good luck in you choice, and enjoy your new car.

Q: Buick enclave thoughts and opinoins?
What are your opinions about the buick enclave? good or bad rep??? problems and personal experience

A: Well if you are asking about the newest Buick Enclave then that is an excellent car for the money. The older models had some problems but Buick is really making much better cars theses days that offer a lot of features for a fair price

Q: buick enclave or chrysler pacifica?
i need to know which one will last better for 2 years, the better design and performance.
but if you guys only had these options.this isnt for me.im trying to find a car for my dads work car

A: GO WITH THE BUICK YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF IN THE LONG RUN AND THE BUICK WILL BRING A BETTER RESALE VALUE.

Q: Buick Enclave Rear Seats?
if I get the buick enclave with a bench second row seat instead of the two captain chairs can I still recline them and slide them back and forth….I mean adjusting them while I’m sitting, not to get to the third row

A: Yes? The thing about the Enclave/Acadia/Outlook triplets is that they are all great, but that second row is very uncomfortable. My friend was going to get the Enclave (amazing interior), but went with the Mazda CX-9 instead.

Q: Are AWD/ 4WD models of cars usually quicker than their 2WD counterparts? For example, the Buick Enclave/Acadia?
Which is faster 0-60. Which would you buy when looking at the GMC Acadia and Enclave?

A: Not in a straight line test of acceleration and top speed in ideal conditions.

4WD means there will be more weight to shift and far greater frictional losses in the drivetrain compared to a 2WD equivalent model.

If the comparison is over a course with loose surfaces and plenty of bends then the greater grip and traction of a 4WD will normally outperform a 2WD car.

I can’t comment on the Acadia and Enclave as we don’t have them in Europe.

Q: What is your opinion on the Buick Enclave?

A: The Buick Enclave is is our luxury vehicle with a twist. It is a larger luxury vehicle but it is also considered a crossover as well just like the Traverse and Acadia. It can seat up to 8 and gets a gas mileage of 17 city and 24 highway. It is available in both FWD or AWD. It can tow up to 4500 pounds. It gets leather seating in the CXL. Bluetooth is standard in this vehicle. You can get both navigation and rear seat entertainment. You’ve also got XM and OnStar both standard on the vehicle. Also you can get the luxury package which includes outside, power folding, auto-dimming driver side, body-color, heated mirrors with turn signal indicators, articulating headlights, power, tilt and telescopic steering column and heated and cooled driver and front passenger seats. The current Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for the 2010 Buick Enclave starts at $36,240.00 . This price includes a destination charge but does not include other fees such as tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment. If you need any more information on this vehicle you can reach me through this profile. I hope this helps you.

Q: How can I replace the battery in my fob for my buick lacrosse 2006?

A: .On the side of the key fob is a small opening for a flat head screw driver place the screw driver in the opening and gentlely twist it…. it should open ……the battery can be as small as a dime or the size of a nickel you can get it a t walmart…… look closely at the battery to see if it positive or negative side up……….once you have the new battery ….pop out the old one and replace with new one …. once it is back together look in your owners manual to see if there is section for resetting your key fob if not try standing next to the drivers door and press and hold both lock and unlock for 10 to 12 seconds if you hear the doors lock & unlock the key fob is set ….or you can call a GM dealer to find out how to reset key fob

Q: Should I consider buying a Buick Lacrosse, Buick Lucerne, or any Chevy Malibu or Impala?
I have been driving a Volvo 850 for the past 12 years (now have almost 240,000 miles on it). My friend, the mechanic, said I should consider a General Motors vehicle as my next car because the warranty is better than that available on Volvo’s.

A: I’ve got 2 Olds Cutlass Cieras (GM), one with 184,000 miles on it and it’s still running strong. I’ve had very good experiences with other GM vehicles in the past as well. The new 2008 Chevy Malibu is a very nice car. It’s getting alot of good press. Watch this video-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJI71XNi0-Q
The Impala is less exciting, but a good, solid vehicle with lots of room and comfort. I know a traveling salesman who got a LaCrosse a couple years ago. He puts 40 or 50,000 miles on it annually and really likes it. I have no first-hand Lucerne experience, although I’ve read good things about it. Buick’s quality ratings are tied for #1 with Lexus in JD Power. Absolutely, consider these cars, go see them and make your decision.

Q: towing capacity of a 2006 Buick LaCrosse?
I am planning on towing a U-haul trailer with my vehicle, the max towing capacity listed on my owner’s manual is 1000 lbs. The trailer I had in mind self-weighs 900lbs which does not allow me to carry much. I would like to know, perhaps based on experience, if the 1000 lbs limit can be compromised.

ps. It will be a 4 thousand kilometer travel, primarily on highway setting.

A: you can cheat and get away with hauling around 1200 with it,but don’t go over that amount, the reason they give you the 1000 pounds is they know people will push it to the limit,i have seen small utility trailers behind them before, and they,ll safely tow those as long as you don’t over load it,its better to be safe on it,good luck.

Q: What mpg can I expect from the following: a buick lacrosse, a nissan sentra, a nissan altama??
Since I dont trust automanufactures ratings- can anyone who owns one of these vehicles tell me what they get- please include what engine/transmisson combo you have too…..thanks!!!!!!!!1

A: They aren’t auto manufacturer ratings, they are tested independently by the feds and told to the manufacturers what to advertise.

These cars aren’t in the same class. You will get average 28-33 in the Sentra, 25-30 in the Altima 4 cylinder and 22-25 in the LaCrosse.

Q: What about the futures of 2008 Buick LaCrosse?
I like 2008 Buick LaCrosse, and want to know the futures of 2008 Buick LaCrosse.Check the link http://autosfans.com/2008-buick-lacrosse/

A: There will be a 2010 Lacrosse according to the link below.

Q: I have a 2007 Buick Lacrosse cx v6 engine that has 3200 miles and burned one qt. of oil on first on change?
is this ok .

A: GM has this problem with not filling the fluids up all the way when they leave the factory, a big problem! most likely that is the problem, i have seen this before on the very same car. if it is the 3500or 3900 v6, there is a chance something could be damaged. They only hold 4 qts. of oil to begin with. take to the dealer, it is under warrenty

Q: Does anybody know how to program a key remote to a 2006 buick lacrosse? Typically, they have a process to do.?
For example usually the process is like insert key and remove, hit gas three times, etc. Please do not say go to dealer. I am aware of that solution thanks.

A: There is only one solution. I`m sorry, but that is the way GM designed the procedure. It has to be programmed by dealer exclusive equipment.

Q: Can i get a ballpark price quote on a windshield replacement for a 05 Buick Lacrosse?
Ive been all over the internet looking at quote sites but they all say generally the same thing that options on the glass require over the phone assistance.. but im borrowing my brother 1000 dollars to fix his windshield but i need to know if thats a accurate price or if hes gonna swindle me a bit

A: If you have full coverage insurance on the car it will cost you $100 to get it replaced and they will even come to your house to do it.

Q: A 06 Buick Lacrosse or 06 Mazda Tribute?
The Buick Lacrosse has 16k Miles and the Mazda Tribute has 63K Miles. The mazda is fully loaded, leather sunroof the works, and the Buick doesnt have anything really just cd player, No sunroof and all that good stuff. I don’t know which car I should pick.

A: I would choose the Buick because of mileage and lower insurance costs. I would be skeptical on the Mazda because, why would anybody trade one in with only 63k miles unless something major is wrong with the vehicle.

Q: What would cause excessive frost on the inside windshield of a 2005 Buick LaCrosse?

A: The reason could be the A/C filter clogged ( replace it ) or there’s heat coming in from the engine which means you have insulation problems in the firewall dividing the cabin from the engine.
Hope it helps!

Q: Whay is your view on the new 2010 Buick Lacrosse?
What is the deal with American car companies these days?
I didnt mean to put it under the GMC cat. My mistake…thanks in advance for your opinions.

A: My view will always be from the outside! I wouldn’t want a car that looks as stupid as this one, especially in the front and hood design! Whats with Buick and putting the fake vent holes on their cars? Our 50’s Buick had’em. didn’t look too bad on that design, but now… terrible looks! Buick has been on the verge of going under for several years. With these designs, they just may pull it off! I wonder if they put the battery and tire jack under the back seat like they have been. Real handy to change a tire on a rainy day with passengers in the back! Unless you want to wait for hours for AAA to show up!

Q: Is Buick Lacrosse in the same league as Lexus? I want to buy a car. and want to know how Buick sounds?
it is cheaper compared to Lexus. Please advise your honest opinion. thanks!

A: The new lacrosse is very impressive. Id say that it is in the same league. The competition is the lexus E350

Q: Should I get a 2010 Buick Lacrosse?
What’s everyone’s opinion on a buick lacrosse 2010? I’m thinking about getting one, but I know the maintenance on buicks in the past haven’t been all that great.

A: I would consider one if I were looking for a new car. My family (Dad’s a mechanic) has been driving Buicks and other GM products for years. No complaints.

Q: How many inchs do i have to get my Buick LaCrosse CXL lifted for 22inch rims?

A: Let me guess, your a NlGGER?

Q: When I accelerate my ‘05 buick lacrosse makes a lot of water noise – any ideas?
The sound is like slushing water upon acceleration and last week the temp. guage started to rise.

A: Check the bottom of your doors; they have drain holes for rainwater. If they are plugged, water will build up inside the doors and give you a sloshing sound.

Q: Is it true that Bears running back Matt Forte so good that Kia named a car after him?
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0902_2010_kia_forte_look/index.html

A: Hahahaha!
Forte is a common musical term from the Italian word for “Loud”.

Q: My friend is going to buy a Kia Forte over a Ford Focus?
Is he making a wise decision?

A: We won’t know that until we see how well the Forte holds up.

We already know the Focus is a good inexpensive small car. How well the KIA holds up over time has not yet been determined. But I think it is a risk I would be willing to take. The Forte has recieved a lot of positive press and it is a good looking little car. If the KIA is cheaper then the Ford ,why not. I know it has a better warranty.

Q: Would you buy a KIA Forte before any US made vehicle of the same class?
Looks like it could cause US automakers headaches!

A: Anyone who really knows the reputation if a Kia knows not to buy one. It’s not that they are bad cars now, but they have always had problems with resale & reliability in the past. Disposable cheaply built cars do not get a good trade in value when you compare them to those who do. The sales of that car will not be able to exceed the Ford Focus or Chevy Malibu sales numbers. They are just better built cars. They ride better & look better. The Forte isn’t ugly, but it doesn’t stand out either. As I have said before here, in the spring of 2010, Chevy will cease production on the Cobalt & start with the Cruze. This jointly designed car currently being offered in Europe & Australia will be a much welcomed vehicle. The 1.4L turbo charged engine is said to get 41 mg/hwy or better. I’ve seen lots of pics of this car & it looks nice. Now back to your question, the answer is no. There are better choices out there for me & b/c I have a decent job I will buy a better car for my money. I’m not trying to be sarcastic or opinionated here, it’s just that I know better & many people out there would not give Kia a single thought.

Q: Which is a better buy, a 2010 Kia forte or a 2009 Chevy cobalt?
I don’t want answers based on favorite make. I want answers based on efficiency, features, and dependability.

Thank you.
“what’s the third choice?”
I didn’t ask for any smart a** answers.
If that’s all you do during the day then get a life.
I’m sorry I’m a nineteen year old who can’t afford an exotic sports car.

Anyways, does anyone have any reputable sources?

Thanks to people who help with the question.

A: Okay i am a total chevy fan and so i might be a little biased. not to mention i don’t know much about the forte. but i feel like helping u out, so here are some links to articles from some of the auto enthusiast sites i visit alot. so good luck, i wish u the best.

Q: which one would you buy? honda civic or kia forte?
I am now considering buying my very first car.
my intention is to use it for weekend activities and commute.
and I think both honda civic and kia forte are very attractive.
any opinions are welcome.

A: Civic Si I dont think Kia is a reliable brand like honda has been for years

how bout a scion tc?

Q: What band is shown on the big screen in the Kia Forte Pioneers commercial?

A: they are either actors, or a band called the super sonic jets.

Q: OVer all how is the new 2010 kia forte koup?
Is it a good car, long lasting, wont break down that much etc?

A: The Koup is a solid car, I’ve been driving one for the past 2 months and love it. Here are a couple video walkarounds of the Koup and the Koup SX-R

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XtdvxMs4co

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJlZUyVZgbU

Q: what is the name of the song in the new kia forte commercial?
there’s text on the screen like ‘that’s my entourage’, ‘that’s my juliette’, ‘that’s my forte’.

A: one has a group called matz(song is Do what you do)and the other a band is called goldfish but couldnt find them on itunes.the song is called fort knox.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ-CDE_r_wg

Q: What is the quarter mile time of the new Kia Forte Koup 6 speed manual?

A: Well… considering that the 0-60mph time is about 9 seconds I would say that it probably runs a 16-17 second quarter mile.

http://www.autos.com/autos/vehicle_detail?make=KI&modelid=881&year=2010
