Dodge Charger

Are you looking for a Dodge Charger?

Q: Thinking about getting a Dodge Charger any advice?
I love the look of the Dodge Chargers, but I have had lots of bad experiences with BRAND NEW Dodges, I am afraid of getting something that will fall apart in a few years. Has anyone had any experience with the charger, does it have any bad qualities, and how is it on gas milage.

A: the charger is a pretty good car, they have experienced problems with transmissions, and other problems though, all cars have some problems, their not good on gas at all ,Chrysler has not the got the gas mileage thing figured out yet,i service a few though and most of them are doing ok,the most complaints i hear on those is the gas mileage especially with gas being the price it is now,i have had a few with electrical problems also that had to go back to the dealer,so use good judgment on this, good luck.

Q: How do you operate the autostick on a dodge charger rt?
I have never owned nor driven a car with a manual tranmission. I currently own a dodge charger rt, and it has a autostick which is suppose to be simlar to a manual. I have never used it, but i would like to learn. I really get confused about 1st and 2nd gears etc, so if somebody could explain to me in lames terms how to use the autostick that would be great.

A: read your owners manual on it that’s the best advice i can give you ,it tells all about that part of it,good luck.

Q: How much can a 1971 Dodge Charger sell for?
I currently have a 1971 Dodge Charger 383 automatic. It has 80-90K original miles on it. Still in good running cond. Some rust spots and some dullness in paint. What starting price should I list the car for?

A: about 10-15 thousand right now,the reason it will sell good is that its in running condition, most of those you find are basically basket cases, and need fully restored,i seen one go off e-bay and it brought 8 thousand and it didn’t even run,but it was all there,id start out asking at least 14-15 for it and that gives you room to lower the price for a guaranteed sale on it,there’s plenty of people looking for those right now so selling it wont be a problem, good luck with it.

A: check out junkyards

Q: Why is my Dodge Charger making squeaking noises as I drive?
Please help, I have a 2006 Dodge Charger SE/SXT. My husband told me that the squeaking noises were the sensors telling me to change the front break pads. Well I had someone change the pads, but I still hear the noise.

A: isnt it still under warranty

Q: How can you rent a 1969 Dodge Charger for a day?
My dad used to drive a red dodge charger when he was young. He always admires these cars anytime that he sees them. I was wondering if there is a way to rent one to allow him to experience some nostalga. He lives in West Virginia.

A: NO! Why because these cars can’t be replaced. But you can buy one. A nice 69 is only asbout 80 grand.

Q: How does a Dodge Charger RWD handle in snow?
I live in Chicago and in the winter it snows a lot. I am looking to buy a Dodge Charger soon and im not sure how it would handle in the winter.

A: Seriously, you need to think about this. FWD came into the automotive world in the 80’s. Before that all cars were RWD, and no, people didn’t just move up north 30 years ago…

The key to winter driving (this goes for every single car on the road):
1. LEARN to drive in general.
2. go to a empty parking lot, and practice driving in the snow (when it is snowing of course).
3. Learn the limits and capabilities of your vehicle.
4. Get a good set of snow tires.
5. This is the single most important piece of information I can give you when driving at all, let alone in the snow… do NOT be a moron. Don’t be that idiot SUV with 4wd that tries to gun it around the corner with 3 inches on snow on the ground… By the time you get 2 and 3 down, you’ll be a great winter driver. However, you can be a formula 1 driver and if the snow is deeper than your ride height, you are not going anywhere (keep that in mind).

By the way, for everyone who says “oh my god you must have AWD!” I have an Audi A4 quattro (AWD) and was curious how it would handle a chicago winter (live here too lol) on summer performance tires… yeah I didn’t move an inch, however, I got winter tires on the next day and bam it handled like a champ.

sorry for posting such a long statement, but if your just skimming, the top 5 steps will get you to be a great winter driver.

Q: Anybody know the size of the thermostat on the dodge charger se?

A: i have had to do this before, the best thing for you to do is take the old one with you,i don’t know the size of it ,but i know at advance auto we did find a 180 to fit in it,they went back a few years on the thermostat to get one to fit it,wish i could help more, but its been one of those days here at the shop, good luck on it.

Q: How much storage is there in a Dodge Charger?
We are traveling to Orlando next month and have a Dodge Charger as a rental car.

My question is is will there be enough space for 5 suitcases and a stroller? There are 4 adults and 1 infant traveling so we won’t have a spare seat we could use.

Thanks! ;-)

A: If you are concerned over trunk space, rent a Mercury Grand Marquis. I’ve had both a Marquis and a Charger. Both have big trunks, but the Charger is not very deep. You will probably do fine with the 5 suitcases (depending on their size). The stroller may be a problem if it’s a big one.

The Marquis will swallow just about anything.

Stop by the rental car place and check it out before it’s time to load up.

Q: What are the visible body differences between the 2006 through 2008 Dodge Charger?
I’m planning on getting a used Dodge Charger SRT8 and I’m not sure if there are any noticeable differences between the 2006-2008 models.

At a glance they appear to be almost exactly a like.

Does anybody know for sure what the differences are? I’m keen to fine details and w/e. Lights, fog lamps, the works. If there’s anything different I want to know about it. Thanks =)

A: I don’t believe there were any major differences in exterior appearance. 2008 was the first year for HID lights as an option. 2008 was also the first year for using the Mercedes style key.

From what I’ve read, 2006 had some problems with transmissions leaking and shifting. These seem to have been worked out in later years.

There are options for wheels, sunroof and a few other things that may make individual cars appear different. When you put your foot down, it wont matter if there are minor differences. The big Hemi is a blast to drive.

Q: Is a there a computer chip that can upgrade my regular dodge charger to a hemi version?
I just bought a Dodge Charger (without hemi) but a guy I work with said there was a computer chip that can upgrade the engine to a hemi? Does anyone know?

A: I work for Dodge Chrysler.
No. The Hemi is a different motor completely from the one your charger came with. Sorry. This guy is a retard!

Q: What is the total cost of importing a 1970 Dodge Charger to Malaysia?
I very love the 1970 Dodge Charger, i wanted to know the tax rate and total cost of importing this car to Malaysia?

A: An arm, a leg, most of your ribcage, your right ear, and half your hip, AFTER you find one like the other poster said. Fairly rare car these days.

Q: Can a 358 Chevy engine work in a 1972 dodge charger?
I was just wondering if a 358 Chevy engine would work in a 1972 Dodge Charger.
What else would work?

A: I’m sure it can be done. The issue would be motor mounts and a bell housing adapter. You can find bell housing adapters at www.advanceadapters.com .The rest is just a matter of fit and wiring….provided you can find or make mounts….or use a chev trans! Good luck.

Q: Can a 1970 Dodge Charger can definitely beat any sport cars?
A kid at school told me that the 1970 Dodge Charger has 1200 mph , WHAT!!!!???????! how can this be true , i mean its a 1970 muscle car with a few horse power . What the heck ; is there such thing?

A: Yes, there is such a thing, but very few of any old American muscle cars have that kind of h.p. To give you a clear idea of what 1200 horses is like; watch “The Fast and Furious”.After watching the last racing scene in the movie, you’ll have a better idea of how a Charger(custom built) responds to 1200hp. Back in the 60’s and “early” 70’s,American stock sports cars ranged between 300-400 h.p. These cars ruled the streets, even through the 80’s. In the early 90’s, things changed. The Japanese sports cars made history by becoming a new threat to racing.
