A: No you cannot. the only car that can go that high of a wheel size with no mod to the vehicle suspension is a chrysler 300c

A: fuel, fire(ignition), or timing. one of the three! make sure the battery is fully charged.

What else would need to be replaced
A: It would be a lot of work especially when it comes to the electronics which includes the transmission in this case. If you want more power how about a super charger? A year or two ago there were still bolt on kits available for that car from places like Jegs and Summit.

A: Actually the cast iron LT1 heads already on your Impala SS outflow the aluminum versions and flow only slightly less than the LT4 heads. The h.p. loss in the Impala SS version of the LT1 was mostly due to the cam profile. The cam used in the iron head version was ground more for low rpm torque. It had considerably less duration and lift and it was 111 lsa opposed to the 115-117 lsa used in the LT1 & LT4. Te LT4 also had more compression. They were 10:1 for the iron head LT1, 10.5:1 for the aluminum head LT1, and 10.8:1 for the LT4.
If it were me, I’d keep the iron head version that’s already in the car and add a mild aftermarket performance cam, headers, cat back exhaust, and a good cold air intake. The exhaust was pretty restrictive on these cars. Headers really wake them up. With these simple mods you should be in stock LT4 territory. Just remember to get a re-flash from a good tuner.

A: Why would he think it was your transmission? A transmission has nothing to do with it starting or not starting.
The reason for it not starting could be a hundred different things, especially if it’s beat to hell! My best advise to you is, have it put on a diagnostic machine.

A: The “Corvette” engine is already in the 94-96 Impala SS. the 94-96 SS had the 5.7L LT1. It had cast iron heads (aluminum for vette), different cam and exhaust maifolds, different accessory arrangement, but otherwise is the same. The SS ony had 260hp and 330/5 ft lbs of Tq though

A: before bringing it to the shop try changing the trani gasket and filter and replacing the old fluid and replace the hose it is alot cheaper than 1500-2300 to fix trani but that is an estimate

A: It all depends does the 1996 z28 produce 500 HP? I know for a fact that the 1996 Chevy Impala SS does. Weight or no wieght, the impala has an interceptor engine under the hood. The only difference between the interceptor engine in a cop car is the head is modified. Also the Impala is capable of produce upwards of 300 Ft pounds of torque. IT’d be a close race. But the Impala would most likely win.
Q: How much engine oil should i have put in my 1996 impala ss. its a 5.7L V8. I also replaced the oil filter.?
i put 5 and a half quarts in just trying to make sure. the problem is i didnt use a funnel so i spilt just a tad bit. after driving it around the block a couple times at high rpm’s and than opening the hood there was a little smoke coming off the header that i spilt the oil on.
